THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TO NOON
EST FRIDAY.

* EXPECT SNOW TO DEVELOP AROUND 5 AM FRIDAY AND THEN DIMINISH
AROUND NOON FRIDAY.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND AN INCH ARE EXPECTED FOR MOST
OF THE ADVISORY AREA WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO AN INCH AND A
HALF POSSIBLE NEAR THE TENNESSEE BORDER.

* LOOK FOR REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES WITH THE HEAVIER SNOW
SHOWERS.

* PLAN ON SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS...INCLUDING DURING THE
MORNING COMMUTE ON FRIDAY.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS PERIODS OF SNOW WILL

NIGHT FOR AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40...

A FAST MOVING SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA FRIDAY...BRINGING
WITH IT ANOTHER ROUND OF LIGHT SNOW ACROSS SOUTHWEST
VIRGINIA AND NORTHEAST TENNESSEE. THE SNOW WILL BEGIN EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLATEAU...THEN SPREAD EAST OVER THE
REST OF THE REGION...GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40.
THE SNOW WILL MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO RAIN ACROSS THE CENTRAL
TENNESSEE VALLEY. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 1 INCH ARE POSSIBLE.
SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST INTO FRIDAY EVENING.
ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MAINLY OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN.

VERY COLD WIND CHILLS ARE EXPECTED LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY
MORNING...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

SNOW AND ICE COVERED ROADWAYS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE AREA CREATING
HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER

...ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOWFALL TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY FOR THE
CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PLATEAU...

AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL DIVE SOUTHEASTWARD TONIGHT AND
BRING A GOOD CHANCE OF SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHEASTERN PORTION OF THE
MID STATE. THE SNOWFALL SHOULD BEGIN AFTER MIDNIGHT AND CONTINUE
INTO FRIDAY. AREAS ALONG THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PLATEAU COULD
SEE BETWEEN ONE HALF AND ONE INCH OF SNOW ACCUMULATION.
ELSEWHERE...AMOUNTS OF LESS THAN A HALF INCH COULD EXTEND AS FAR
WEST AS INTERSTATE 24. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SOME RAINSHOWER
ACTIVITY IN THE AFTERNOON BEFORE ENDING BY EVENING.

MOTORISTS SHOULD TAKE NOTE THAT GROUND SFC TEMPERATURES ARE ON THE
COLD SIDE AND ANY SNOWFALL THAT OCCURS WILL ACCUMULATE RATHER
QUICKLY. IF ENCOUNTERING SNOW COVERED ROADS WHEN TRAVELLING...SLOW
DOWN AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION. HAZARDOUS
ROAD CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY TO DEVELOP BY LATE TONIGHT ACROSS THE
PLATEAU.
