...A MIXED BAG OF WINTER WEATHER IS ON THE WAY FOR MIDDLE TN...

THIS AFTERNOON...AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT EXTENDED FROM CENTRAL OHIO
SOUTHWEST THROUGH THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL. THIS BOUNDARY WILL WORK
ACROSS THE MID STATE THIS EVENING AND BRING MUCH COLDER AIR TO THE
REGION. MEANWHILE...FAVORABLE JET DYNAMICS WILL LEAD TO THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A GULF SFC LOW WHICH IS EXPECTED TO TRACK EAST
ACROSS THE DEEP SOUTH BY MONDAY. AS THIS LOW TRACKS
EAST...MOISTURE WILL WORK NORTHWARD WITH SNOW DEVELOPING ACROSS
NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE MID STATE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON...AND A
RAIN AND SNOW MIX ACROSS THE SOUTH. SUNDAY NIGHT...WARMER AIR WILL
BEGIN TO CHANGE THE SNOW OVER TO RAIN...EXCEPT ACROSS THE
PLATEAU...WHERE THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO A SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN MIXTURE. THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD CHANGE OVER TO ALL
RAIN ACROSS THE PLATEAU BY MID MORNING MONDAY.

AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF I-40...COULD SEE AROUND 1 INCH OF
SNOWFALL BY SUNDAY EVENING...EXCEPT 1 TO 2 INCHES POSSIBLE ACROSS
NORTHWESTERN SECTIONS. ELSEWHERE...AMOUNTS OF GENERALLY LESS THAN
AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE. ACROSS THE PLATEAU...ON SUNDAY
NIGHT...ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE.

THIS WINTER WEATHER SCENARIO IS STILL IN ITS DEVELOPING STAGES.
THERE IS STILL A GREAT DEAL OF UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT
PRECIPITATION TYPE AND AMOUNTS. RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO STAY TUNED
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AS THIS WINTER WEATHER EVENT APPROACHES.
