- Flood Advisory For
Southeastern Laurel County In South Central Kentucky
Knox County In Southeastern Kentucky
Central Whitley County In South Central Kentucky
- Until 700 Pm Edt
- At 405 Pm Edt Doppler Radar Indicated Heavy Rain Rates Of Up To
Two Inches Per Hour In Thunderstorms. This Will Cause Minor
Flooding In The Advisory Area. One To Two Inches Of Rain Has
Already Fallen According To Radar Estiamtes Especially In The
Vicinity Of Lynn Camp Gray Arkle And Siler.
- Some Locations That May Experience Flooding Include
Barbourville Corbin Green Road Clate Dishman Springs
Girdler Moore Hill Swanpond Faber Bertha Station Suttons
Mill King Emmanuel Wofford Brush Creek Mchargue Cane
Creek Artemus Cannon And Indian Creek.
Precautionary/preparedness Actions
In Hilly Terrain There Are Hundreds Of Low Water Crossings Which Are
Potentially Dangerous In Heavy Rain. Do Not Attempt To Travel Across
Flooded Roads. Find Alternate Routes. It Takes Only A Few Inches Of
Swiftly Flowing Water To Carry Vehicles Away.

Southwestern Harlan County In Southeastern Kentucky
East Central Bell County In Southeastern Kentucky
- Until 745 Pm Edt
- At 543 Pm Edt Doppler Radar Indicated Heavy Rain Due To Slow-
Moving Thunderstorms. This Will Cause Minor Flooding Of Creeks And
Streams Roads And Roadside Culverts Especially In Low
Lying Areas.
- Some Locations That Will Experience Flooding Include
Low Liggett Twila Stanfill Black Snake Mary Alice
Martins Fork Bardo Blackmont Pathfork Pansy Alva
Hensley Store And South Wallins.
Precautionary/preparedness Actions
Most Flood Deaths Occur In Automobiles. Never Drive Your Vehicle Into
Areas Where The Water Covers The Roadway. Flood Waters Are Usually
Deeper Than They Appear. Just One Foot Of Flowing Water Is Powerful
Enough To Sweep Vehicles Off The Road. When Encountering Flooded
Roads Make The Smart Choice Turn Around Dont Drown.
Do Not Drive Your Vehicle Into Areas Where The Water Covers The
Roadway. The Water Depth May Be Too Great To Allow Your Car To Cross
Safely. Move To Higher Ground.

At 526 Pm Edt Doppler Radar Was Tracking A Strong Thunderstorm 10
Miles Northeast Of La Follette Moving Southeast At 15 Mph.
Nickel Size Hail And Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Will Be Possible With
This Storm.
Locations Impacted Include
White Oak Clairfield And Fincastle.
Precautionary/preparedness Actions
Torrential Rainfall Is Also Occurring With This Storm And May Lead
To Flash Flooding. Do Not Drive Your Vehicle Through Flooded
Roadways.
Frequent Cloud To Ground Lightning Is Occurring With This Storm.
Lightning Can Strike 15 Miles Away From A Thunderstorm. Seek A Safe
Shelter Inside A Building Or Vehicle.

Nickel Size Hail And Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Will Be Possible With
This Storm.

Sharps Chapel And Norris Lake.
