LAFOLLETTE (WATE) – A suspect wanted in Ohio on child molestation charges was arrested Thursday in LaFollette.
Jamie Lee Jones, 33, was wanted on a 2015 five-count indictment out of Defiance County, Ohio, for sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14. He pleaded guilty in February, but then failed to appear for a sentencing hearing in April.
An investigation by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Service determined he was in East Tennessee. U.S. Marshals and Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force officers tracked Jones down to the 1100 block of Highway 25W in LaFollette and took him into custody.
