Knoxville radio station organizes toy drive for kids affected by Sevier County fires

POWELL (WATE) – Knoxville radio station Q100 collected toys, gifts and clothes Friday for Sevier County kids for Christmas after many families lost everything in the wildfires.

Q100 personality Krisha said her coworkers and their viewers decided together that it would be a good idea to put on a toy drive and says the response has been overwhelming.

“Last Tuesday, we said we’re going to open up and we’re going to park our truck in the parking lot and we had to stop people from coming to our station because there were so many people. They were lined up on Amherst. The response… we have such great people in East Tennessee and our listeners are amazing and they just… you put the call out and they show up with bicycles. We’ve got bicycles. We’re so happy,” Krisha said.

The toy drive runs until 6 p.m. Friday at the Ingles on Emory Road in Powell.
