Counterfeit designer items worth $1M found in Crossville

CROSSVILLE (WATE) – Counterfeit and illegal items, worth almost a million dollars, were found in Cumberland County.

Investigators received a tip on December 2 that a large quantity of designer clothing was being sold at the Cumberland County Community Complex. Other items were found throughout the week with the help of business owners. Some of the items had the names of The North Face, Louis Vuitton, Polo, Yeti, Coach, Nike and more.

According to investigators, counterfeiting and piracy cost the nation’s economy between $200-billion and $250-billion each year.
