KNOXVILLE (WATE) – An annual luncheon is helping raise money for an organization that helps people from all walks across East Tennessee.
Catholic Charities of East Tennessee hosted their “360 degrees of hope” luncheon Friday morning. The name comes from the group’s efforts to provide 360 degrees of service, from unborn and at-risk children and young people to the homeless and the elderly.
“We help thousands of people every year, so an event like this is really people coming together who are going to open their hearts and make a gift so that we can continue to do the work that we do here in East Tennessee,” said Rebecca Williams with Catholic Charities of East Tennessee.
The lunch’s featured speaker was Susan Packer, the co-founder of Scripps Networks and HGTV. WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Kristin Farley also made an appearance at the luncheon, introducing Bishop Richard Stika.
