CARRYVILLE (WATE) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said remains found in a wooded area by a deer hunter were identified by the Regional Forensic Center as Starla Pride, 47.

The remains were found on November 11,  just off the lake bank of Norris Lake between Twin Cove Marina and Mountain Lake Marina. Pride was reported missing on September 12. She has an intellectual disability, according to the sheriff’s office.

“All citizens, please keep this family in your immediate prayers as they absorb this tragic and sad information,” said Campbell County Sheriff Robbie K. Goins.

While their hearts are breaking, Pride’s family says there aren’t enough thanks for this deer hunter that found Pride’s remains. For weeks her family searched for her and they said they are glad to finally get closure.

Investigators say foul play is not suspected.
