KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Three suspects are in custody after the attempted robbery of a cellular phone store in South Knoxville, a police chase and a crash.
Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk says around 5:22 p.m. four suspects tied up employees in the back room of Cellular Sales in the 4500 block of Chapman Highway, but were unsuccessful in the robbery.
They fled the scene in a vehicle, but around 5:42 p.m., police spotted them on Inskip Drive before fleeing again onto Rowan Road. The suspects ran a stop sign, according to police, at the intersection with Cedar Lane and hit a Kia Optima going east. The driver was not hurt.
Viewer David J. Moore shared surveillance video of the crash with WATE 6 On Your Side.
The suspect vehicle flipped once and stopped. All four suspects got out and ran off. One was arrested within minutes and another was captured around 7:40 p.m. The third suspect was captured late Tuesday night. Charges are pending in the case. One suspect is still on the run.
Sir Tyrone Love, Pierre Jordon and Deangelo Doss are being held at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond each. All three men are from Illinois. They face charges for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.
