Knoxville art exhibit helps feed hungry

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – “Knoxville Holiday Canstruction” offers art with a purpose – fighting hunger.

During the annual event, presented by Messer Construction Company, teams of Knoxville architects, engineers, contractors, designers and students construct holiday-themed works of art made of canned food.

Sculpture can be viewed at the Knoxville Convention Center from November 22 to December 2 during convention center hours. All canned food used to build the sculptures will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.

Canstruction is one of the largest food bank drives in world and takes place in more than 170 U.S. cities each year. For more information visit the group’s Facebook page.
