Tennessee Athletics names new head women’s tennis coach

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Tennessee Athletics Department has named a new women’s tennis coach.

Alison Ojeda replaces Mike Patrick who resigned last week. Patrick coached at the University of Tennessee for 30 years, has coached 13 All-Americans and 23 Top -25 finishes.

“Mike, you’re a legend,” said Ojeda. “Thank you for all the incredible lessons you taught me on and off the court. Cheers to an incredible career.”

Ojeda was hired as an assistant coach in June 2016. The former Tennessee All-American is one of the most decorated players in program history. She is one of only four females ever to post more than 100 victories in both singles and doubles during her career on Rocky Top.

Before coaching at Tennessee, Ojeda was an associate head coach at Baylor University. The school said she made a lasting impact on the women’s tennis program, helping develop players into elite competitors nationally.
