Knoxville Police Department adds 2 new K-9 teams to force

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knoxville Police Department is welcoming two new additions to their police force.

The police department announced Tuesday night they added two new K-9 teams. K-9 Officer Dylan Williams and his new partner “Nash” will work in the west district patrol sector and K-9 Officer Chris Williams and his new partner “Loki” will work in the east district patrol sector.

Nash and Loki are Belgian Malinois. Police said they have undergone extensive training with their new officer partners.

The new K-9 teams will hit the streets soon in new Chevrolet Tahoe Police K-9 vehicles, according to police. The Tahoes replace the Ford Crown Victoria vehicles.
