KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Tennessee Valley Authority announced Tuesday that it is issuing a burn ban on all public lands, recreation areas and facility reservations in its service area in the Tennessee Valley.

Open flames are prohibited during the ban, including campfires, barbecues, smoking or any other activity involving flames. Also, vehicles are not allowed to park on non-paved or gravel surfaces.

TVA will be closing public access to recreation areas and facility reservations in areas with a high risk of fire danger.

To report violations, call the TVA Police at 855-476-2489. If you see any fires, call 9-1-1.
