OLIVER SPRINGS (WATE) – New mountain bike trails will open at Windrock Park in Oliver Springs.

The uplift assisted mountain bike park will have nine trails, including a flow trail and improved intermediate terrain. It is on 550 acres near the Cumberland Mountains. The trails range in lengths and drop 1,100 vertical feet. Bike riders do have the option to combine trails, each trail can be completed within 5 to 10 minutes.

“We have designed the bike park to best utilize the natural terrain of the mountain,” said Neko Mulally, professional mountain bike rider who, along with fellow professional biker Sean Leader designed and built the park. “We improved the existing trails to add flow and added new trails to put together a really fun layout.”

The trails range in lengths and drop 1,100 vertical feet. Bike riders do have the option to combine trails, each trail can be completed within 5 to 10 minutes.

“The terrain at Windrock Park is amazing and anyone who has ridden the mountain bike trails can see that the potential has always been huge,” said Mulally.  “When the opportunity came up to develop the trails into something bigger, I had to jump on it.”

To use the park, riders must have a pass that can be bought at the Windrock General Store, 912 Windrock Road. During November and until May, there will be shuttles for riders every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shuttles fun every 10 minutes and can fit 25 riders with their bikes. During the week day riders can self-shuttle.
