The Big Red Bow Project to help residents with Alzheimer’s during the holidays

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Big Red Bow Project is kicking off for the holiday season. The project brings awareness to East Tennesseans who are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.

Lexus of Knoxville will be collecting donations for Alzheimer’s Tennessee to help residents.

“We’ve had folks here at Lexus Knoxville that have personal relationships with people who have the disease, Alzheimer’s, and so we choose to be a part of those things, to support our work family here, and to support those people in our community that need u to help with those things that we are able to do,” said Gary Hughes with Lexus of Knoxville.

Suggested items include new MP3 players, CDs/DVDs, bird houses blankets, scarves, robes, jumbo-sized puzzles and coloring books.

Supporters can bring new gifts to the dealers at 10315 Parkside Drive every day until December 7.

The dealership will place the new items under its purple “Memory Tree.” WATE 6 On Your Side and B97.5 are also sponsors for the project.
