VONORE (WATE) – A Monroe County man has been arrested for intentionally setting a fire last week.

Austin Miller, 18, is charged with setting fire to personal property or land. Deputies were called to Cedar Lane on Friday to investigate a brush fire and found a fire around 20 yards from one residence and 30 yards from another.

Deputies were able to determine Miller started the fire. The Vonore Fire Department was able to put out the fire before it reached any of the homes.

Monroe County, along with many others in East Tennessee, is under a burn ban due to the dry weather.
