Teams face off in 11th annual East Tennessee chili cook-off

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – More than 30 cooking teams competed at World’s Fair Park Sunday for the 11th Annual East Tennessee Chili Cook-Off.

Each team produced 25 gallons of their homemade chili in hopes to be given the title of best chili recipe in East Tennessee. Visitors to the cook-off were given the chance to sample every chili and vote for a favorite.

The cooking competition was not the only activity the cook-off held.

Visitors competed in a chili corn hole tournament, let their kids enjoy an inflatable playground and even visited the unique “chili beer garden” where beers from around the world were offered

Proceeds from the event went toward Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, which distributes food to more than 225,000 children, adults and seniors each month.
