Teams face off in 11th annual East Tennessee chili cook-off

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – More than 30 cooking teams competed at World’s Fair Park Sunday for the 11th Annual East Tennessee Chili Cook-Off.

Each team produced 25 gallons of their homemade chili in hopes to be given the title of best chili recipe in East Tennessee. Visitors to the cook-off were given the chance to sample every chili and vote for a favorite.

The cooking competition was not the only activity the cook-off held.

Visitors competed in a chili corn hole tournament, let their kids enjoy an inflatable playground and even visited the unique “chili beer garden” where beers from around the world were¬†offered

Proceeds from the event went toward Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, which distributes food to more than 225,000 children, adults and seniors each month.
