MARYVILLE (WATE) – The best and brightest of Blount County were honored Tuesday night at the Blount Partnership’s annual Best of Blount Awards at the Clayton Center for the Arts.
The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority won the Tourism Award for its efforts to promote tourism by attracting new airlines and destinations.

Dr. Will Tantum and the Blount County Eye Center won Small Business of the Year and Newell Brands was chosen as Large Business of the Year for its education supply donations.
Comic book store The Golden Age 1942 was awarded the Bright Future Award for its work in creating social opportunities for reading and the Community Impact Award went to the Pregnancy Resource Center for its mobile ultrasound bus.
The late Jack Campbell was named Philanthropist of the Year.
NASCAR hall of famer Rusty Wallace was guest speaker and the event was emceed by Good Morning Tennessee anchors Tearsa Smith and Bo Williams. WATE 6 On Your Side was a proud sponsor.
