KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Hundreds gathered at the West Knoxville Barnes and Noble for Mugglecon 2016 which is a celebration of all things Harry Potter where everyone is welcome, no matter if you’re a witch, wizard, muggle, or fantastic beast.
“Mugglecon 2016 has been so much bigger than last year,” said Amanda Goodwin Smith. “We’ve had a blast. We had both the UT and Knoxville Quidditch teams here.”
“Harry Potter in and of itself is about finding the light and the darkness and the good and the bad and accepting everyone for who they are. I think that’s a great message to send,” said Goodwin Smith.
Zoo Knoxville was in attendance with a snake, tarantula and giant toad in tow.
There was also a costume contest and Harry Potter trivia.
Barnes and Noble partnered with non-profit organization, Transfiguring Adoption to raise funds and book donations for Knoxville area Foster Care Kits.
