Knox County elementary school celebrates 15th annual pumpkin carving competition

Students carve pumpkins at Christenberry Elementary School

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Students from Christenberry Elementary celebrated Halloween early by spending the day carving pumpkins.

The school’s annual pumpkin carving event promotes families to come together and construct their best pumpkin creation. Students and teachers were also allowed to dress up for the Halloween event and students got to bring their pumpkin’s home with them.

“I have honestly never seen anything like it,” said Assistant Principal Jennie Scott. “The kids are so excited and it’s neat to see different adults be a part of what they are doing here today, they are just beaming ear-to-ear.”

The pumpkin carving has been a tradition at the school for the last 15 years.
