Pop the popcorn: Favorite scary movie picks across the country

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Halloween is almost here. Many may decide to celebrate by watching their favorite horror movie while binge eating candy.

Declutter, a website used to sell CDs, DVDs and more, surveyed Americans to find out the most popular scary movies in each state. The survey concluded the most popular movies were “IT.” “The Conjuring,” The Grudge,” The Exorcist” and “Friday the 13th.”

For residents in Tennessee and Kentucky, the most popular movie was “The Exorcist.”

Here are the top picks for each state:
