KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The loss of a child is one of the hardest things a parent has to go through.
Angel Wings Memory Gowns, located in Knoxville, works to help a bereaved family during their time of loss by providing complimentary burial gowns for babies and toddlers and grief support for families. They take old wedding gowns and formal gowns and turn them into burial gowns for babies.
On Saturday, November 12, the non-profit is sponsoring a fundraiser called the “Wedding of the Decades” gala dinner at Jubilee Banquet Facility in Knoxville. There is a VIP meet and greet with the founders of Angels Wings and WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Lori Tucker at 5:00 p.m., followed by a dinner and fashion show at 6:00 p.m.
Organizers say the fashion show will spotlight eight decades of wedding dresses that have been donated, before they turn them into memory gowns. There will also be a live and silent auction as well as a remembrance ceremony.
Tickets can be purchased online for the event.
