KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Two men were arrested Wednesday after a Breadbox was robbed.

Investigators say William Alexander Bucker, 21, and Josh James Lawson, 21, went into the Breadbox at 5340 Millertown Pike around 1 a.m. The suspects demanded money and acted as if they had a handgun. The report says the suspects fled the store in a black car and left with money.

A Knoxville police officer stopped the car eight minutes after the suspects fled the store. According to the report, there was a large amount of cash behind the driver’s seat. Also, investigators found several pieces of clothing matching the description of the robbery suspects.

Investigators say Lawson, the driver, fled the car on foot. He was chased after by the officer and a K-9. The K-9 bit Lawson while he was trying to jump a fence.

Buckner was detained at the car. He was transported to the Safety Building and was interviewed. During the interview, he gave the identification of Lawson.

Around 4:25 p.m., a police officer saw Lawson running across I-40 near Rutledge Pike. He was transported to Physicians’s Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for the dog bite.

Buckner and Lawson face charges for aggravated robbery. Also, Lawson faces charges for evading arrest.
