KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A new partnership is designed to make it easier for Tennessee high school athletes to get scholarships to college. The “Toyota East vs. West Tennessee All-Star Classic” is a football game featuring some of the top players in the state and the 10th annual game this year will be streamed on ESPN3.
The game will be held on December 9 at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium in Cookeville. Oneida head football coach Tony Lambert will coach the east team and Major Right, head coach at Raleigh-Egypt High School, will coach the west team.
Tennessee production company M&M Productions USA will produce the live video feed. It will also be broadcast on local TV stations throughout the state.
“There are plenty of athletes in the past that got scholarships at the game. Instead of limiting them to this small area, we’re opening this up to a national audience – to scouts and recruiters. It’s a very big deal,” said Mike Brown, president and CEO of M&M Productions USA.
