KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The East Tennessee community gathered Saturday night for a gala to benefit the Knoxville Change Center.
The gala featured over 200 people, including students from Austin East High School performing a dance.
WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Lori Tucker emceed the event along with the Dean of Emerald Youth Academy, Renee Kelly.
Also in attendance were Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and police chief David Rausch.
The gala marked the largest fundraiser yet for the Change Center.
Once construction begins on the center, revenues from Saturday’s gala will be used to fund needed updates or improvements.
The event was held at the home of author Sherri Lee.
