Wanda Faye Walker went missing October 5 after she did not arrive to work. Walker’s car was later found locked with her possessions inside behind a home on Wade Avenue, not far from the Metro police’s Midtown Hills Precinct.

Her sister Rochelle Charleston said Wanda had no reason to leave her family and friends without an explanation.

“Just about a week before she went missing, we were at church and she was happy,” she said. “We need people to come forward with information about her.”

Walker’s family reported her missing to Metro police and has worked on their own to find her.

Her other sister LaKisha Chambers has talked to people at Wanda’s job, gone door-to-door in the area she was living in, and in the area where her car was found and has also passed out flyers with her sister’s picture.

For Wanda’s family, this situation is a tragic reminder of another family member who is missing has been missing nearly 17 years.

Wanda Walker’s daughter LaResha Walker, the mother of a then-toddler, disappeared in November 1999

“I try to put a smile on my face, but it’s hard to see other people with their mothers,” Rayvon Walker said. “Now with my grandmother being missing as well, it’s devastating.”

Anyone with information about Wanda or her daughter’s disappearance is asked to call Metro police at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
