ONEIDA (WATE) – A Kentucky man shot by an Oneida police officer during a confrontation in a Walmart parking lot now faces aggravated assault and drug charges.
Shannon O’Regan, 30, was indicted Tuesday by a Scott County grand jury on charges of aggravated assault and drug possession charges, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The Oneida Police Department had been called to the Walmart on Alberta Street on August 7 for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers said when they arrived, they found O’Regan, who pointed a gun at them. Officers fired at O’Regan, hitting him once.

O’Regan turned himself in on Wednesday. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
