ROBBINS (WATE) – A large brush fire in Scott County briefly forced some residents from their homes Tuesday, but they were later allowed to return.

Dispatchers say the fire spanning around 175 acres broke out just before 2 p.m. in the West Robbins Community. All nine fire departments in the county, plus three in Morgan County were called out to fight the flames.

The fire was threatening four homes at one point and the residents were forced to evacuate, but once the fire was contained, they were allowed to return home.

The Tennessee Division of Forestry remains on the scene to monitor the fire, but it is said to be under control.
