Body found behind Knoxville church identified; homicide investigation underway

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A homicide investigation is now underway after a man’s body was found Monday behind a Knoxville church.

Police identified the man Wednesday as Raynard Enlow, 25, originally of Detroit, Michigan. Enlow had been reported missing by his father last Wednesday. His 2010 Dodge Challenger was found on Friday by the Maryville Police Department, abandoned in a parking lot.

Knoxville police say Enlow’s body was found behind Norwood Church of Christ at 6001 Central Avenue Pike around 10:52 a.m. Monday They said an ambulance was parked near the church and discovered the body.

Police say Enlow’s death is being investigated as a homicide and they have already interviewed several people. Information about a possible cause of death is not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Police said Monday they believed Enlow’s body had been at the location for several days. The body was taken to the Knox County Forensic Center.
