KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The University of Tennessee has launched a “Volstarter” crowdfunding project to help student artist Payton Miller with her efforts to paint the iconic “The Rock” on campus.
The senior biochemistry major has been spending $125 of her own money each week to buy supplies to paint The Rock. She has been painting the rock every Friday night of football season since her sophomore year and has also painted it for special occasions such as Pat Summitt’s death.
