Former UT player Mack Crowder sentenced to jail in Florida

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WATE) – Former University of Tennessee football player Mack Crowder was sentenced to two months in jail after reaching a plea deal.

Crowder began his sentence in the Pinellas County, Florida, jail on October 7 after pleading guilty to one count of unlawful use of a communication device. Crowder was originally charged with four additional counts of transmission of material harmful to minors, but those charges were dropped as part of the deal. He will also serve three years on probation.

The former UT football player joined the Volunteers in 2011 as an offensive lineman. He was red-shirted this fall. He played in 11 games, starting three.
