CALVIN, Ky. (WATE) – Three people are dead after a two-vehicle crash in Bell County, Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police say a trooper discovered the crash scene around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. They say a white 2010 Toyota Camry was going north on U.S. 119 toward Harlan when a silver 2008 Toyota Rav4 that was going south toward Pineville crossed the center line and hit the Camry head on.
The driver of the Camry, William Hampton, 51, and his wife, Dena Hampton, 53, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Rav4, Bobby Miller, 51, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
After the crash, a 1993 Cadillac tried to avoid the crash by dropping off the shoulder, but hit a guard rail in the process. No one was hurt in that vehicle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, but Dena Hampton was not.
