KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Despite Saturday’s loss to Texas A&M, the Volunteer’s are still ranked at Number 9 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Tennessee plays No. 1 ranked Alabama at Neyland Stadium next. Extending its nation-best winning streak to 18 games, Alabama took their 18th win Saturday against No. 16 Arkansas.

Texas A&M moved up from No. 8 to No. 6 after besting Tennessee in double-overtime. Texas A&M had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Daniel LaCamera’s 38-yard field goal attempt sailed wide left. Alvin Kamara’s 4-yard run about a minute later made it a one-score game.

Alabama’s winning streak is now one of coach Nick Saban’s best at the school. The Crimson Tide won 19 straight games over the 2009-10 seasons.

The new rankings make the third Saturday in October Tennessee-Alabama game the first top 10 showdown for the Volunteers and Crimson tide in 17 seasons.
