KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it says is a murder-suicide.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office had received a call that Teena Rudd, 58, of Knoxville, drove her ex-husband’s truck to a family member’s home in Sevier County and tried to kill herself with a gun.

She was taken to UT Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Family members drove to 6610 Millertown Pike to check on her ex-husband, Michael Self, 62, and found him lying in the yard of an apparent gun shot wound. The family called 911 and first responders pronounced him dead on the scene.
