Knoxville police arrest 2 men for attempting to meet 14-year-old girls for sex

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Over two days, two men were arrested in two separate incidents for attempting to have sex with a minor.

Marcus Christopher Hobbs, 34, of Oak Ridge, was arrested Wednesday and charged with solicitation of a minor, aggravated statutory rape and simple possession. Knoxville Police Department said Hobbs drove to a location with the intent to engage in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl. He was released on a $20,500 bond.

Thursday, Knoxville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force arrested Shane Courtney McCosh. McCosh, 37, of Knoxville, was charged with solicitation of a minor and aggravated statutory rape.

After exchanging electronic communications, police said McCosh drove to a location with the intent of engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old female.  McCosh is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.
