KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville organization is raising money to provide literacy education to children.
The city’s chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc is hosting a Children’s Literacy Gala. The Downtown Knoxville event will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and will include dinner, a silent auction and dancing.
The organization provides social, cultural and educational programming to children between the ages of 2 and 18. The organization is funding a K-3 reading corner at The First Tee Learning Center at Williams Creek Golf Course through its literacy initiative. Also, the organization sponsored the East Tennessee Youth Leadership Program to help children improve STEM skills.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children between the ages 2 to 12.
