KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The University of Tennessee is preparing for its game against Texas A&M.
East Tennessee is still celebrating the Vols win against Georgia. The Vols won in the final seconds of the game when Josh Dobbs threw a Hail Mary to Jauan Jennings.
“I don’t think I’ve been in a game like that where it goes from one extreme to another in 10 seconds,” said Jones.
Jones said one of the best plays that he has seen all season involved Riley Lovingood. Jones spoke of Evan Beery’s crucial kickoff return. “We told him to get all you can get and get out of bounds.’
Jalen Reeves-Maybin will not play due to shoulder injury. Neither will Darrin Kirkland, Jr due to his ankle injury, Jones announced during his Wednesday night “Vol Calls” radio show. Kirkland has missed three games in a row and Saturday will be his fourth.
Jones said the Aggies will be the greatest challenge for the Vols so far this season. “A&M defines what a complete football team is,” said Jones. “They can run it and they can throw it.”
The Vols are ranked No. 9 in the AP Top 25 poll, with a record of 5-0. The Aggies received the No. 8 spot.
