Knoxville man arrested after traffic stop on 9 warrants

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man was arrested after a traffic stop Saturday.

Investigators stopped Vincent Terrell Williams, 24, on the exit ramp from Interstate 40 West to James White Parkway. Williams had nine warrants for his arrest including aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.

Williams is accused of threatening to shoot the mother of his child and her family on October 1, according to the arrest report. Investigators say he refused to leave, the mother’s brother and sister attempted to intervene and he pulled out a firearm and threatened to shoot all of them.

Police said Williams then knocked over a television and started hitting the woman. Officers said the the woman was able to get away from Williams on Connecticut Avenue where she was located by police.

The woman told police Williams slammed her up against a wall and choked her. Officer noted marks around her neck. Williams is also facing charges for failure to appear from a prior aggravated assault charge.
