SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) – A now-former Spring Hill police officer has been charged with sex-related offenses while on duty.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Monday their investigation into Christopher Odom began on Aug. 1.

Authorities say agents learned Odom pulled over a car driven by an adult female in June and initiated sexual contact with her during the traffic stop.

According to a press release, the TBI says it happened again with another adult female in July.

On Monday, 26-year-old Odom was charged indicted by a grand jury on charges of rape, sexual battery, and two counts of official misconduct.

He was arrested and booked into the Maury County jail on $75,000 bond.

Officer Odom was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation that began in August.

In a statement released Monday, the department stated the following:

The actions of Officer Odom are not indicative of a Spring Hill Police Officer and is in direct violation of departmental policies. The department takes great pride in serving our community and preserving the trust of our citizens.”

His employment has been terminated due to his violation of internal city policies, according to the statement.
