Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon donates $15K to non-profits

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Several East Tennessee non-profits received a big boost Monday thanks to the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. More than $15,000 in grants have been reinvested in the community to promote healthy living.

Organizers with the marathon say they look for other non-profits that positively impact the health and wellness of people in the community. A $10,000 grant was awarded to the Legacy Parks Foundations. Ijams Nature Center and Young-Williams Animal Center were also awarded grants.

All of this was made possible through the annual marathon event.
