Knoxville festival to stand up to bullies


KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville group is standing up to bullies next month with a special event planned for the entire community.

The “Be a Friend Festival” is Friday, October 14, at Ashley Nicole Park inside Knoxville’s Caswell Park on Winona Street. The event is hosted by The disABILITY Resource Center in an effort to stand against bullying toward minorities and diverse populations, including people of different ethnicities, religion, race, disability, economic status, weight, gender and more, through positive education and awareness.

Different providers and organizations will have booths with information and a kid-friendly activity. Local magician, Michael Messing, will be in attendance.
