MORRISTOWN (WATE) – A Hamblen County man was arrested earlier this week after deputies say he hid from police, resisted arrest and damaged three deputies’ uniforms.

Andrew Travis Lane, 29, is charged with aggravated criminal trespassing, evading arrest, resisting arrest and destruction of county property.

The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to a home on Smokey View Drive in the early morning hours of September 19 after the homeowner called 911 to say her grandson, Lane, had entered the house through an unlocked bathroom window. Lane was evicted earlier in the night and told by officers not to return.

Deputies say Lane crawled through the crawl space under the house and hid there, refusing commands from deputies to come out. Deputies were able to pull him out, but Lane resisted arrest and damaged three deputies’ shirts. Lane’s grandmother says he also damaged the basement of the house.

He is being held in the Hamblen County Jail on $25,000 bond.
