The Great Llama Race to raise money for Knoxville organizations, schools

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Runners will help raise money for East Tennessee schools and llamas.

The Great Llama Race will host a celebrity race at World’s Fair Park. Area celebrities will partner with a school in order to raise money for the school’s project. WATE 6 On Your Side Good Morning Tennessee anchor Tearsa Smith will be racing with a llama.

Also, the event will raise money for the Southeast Llama Rescue and Casa de Sara. Casa de Sara provides education opportunities to at-risk youth in Knoxville and Bolivia.

At the event, there will be vendors, entertainment, food, music, a children’s section, crafts, games and more. Attendees can enter contests to win prizes.

The event will be on October 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
