PIGEON FORGE (WATE) – The Smoky Mountain Opry Theater is hosting auditions. The theater is looking for singers, dancers and specialty acts for the upcoming season. Rehearsals begin in February.
“We are looking for exceptional singers, dancers, performing artists and entertainers to fill many different roles in our new variety show production,” said David Fee, president and chief executive officer of The Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group and co-owner of the theater. “We cast year-round and are always looking for outstanding talent.”
Applicants are expected to have a headshot and resume. The theater says prior experience is preferred. Applicants can audition for both singing and dancing. Auditions will be Sunday at 6 p.m at 2046 Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Registration starts at 5:30 p.m.
Singers should be able to perform a variety of genres and will be asked to prepare to song selections that are no more than 90 seconds each. The company says singers must bring a musical track in MP3 or CD format. Singers will be taught a dance number.
The company is looking for dancers who have experience in a variety of dance styles. Those with gymnastic or aerial skills are encouraged to apply. Dancers will prepare a short combination with or without music. Also, dancers will be taught a combination and have to do partner work.
If applicants can not audition in person, a demo reel, headshot and resume should be sent to email@example.com. Specialty acts and musicians should also email headshots, resumes and demo reels.
