MOUNT CARMEL (WJHL) – Mount Carmel police officers are currently trying to track down a pesky pig they said has caused property damage in a nearby neighborhood.

According to MCPD, officers have been trying to catch the pig since 8 a.m. Monday. The pig has reportedly been on the run in the community for a little over a month.

Police said this is the first time they’ve attempted to hunt down the pig, but said they recently got involved due to several property damage complaints in Hammond Estates.

Earlier Monday, public works, police, fire, as well as community members, were on-scene hoping to spot the elusive pig.

Cages with corn and marshmallows have been setup in hopes of catching the swine, as well as nets and catching poles.

Anyone who sees the pig is asked to call dispatch at 357-4141.
