NEWPORT (WATE) – Five men have been charged with intentionally setting a fire at the Cocke County Jail.

John Thomas Shehee, 28, is charged with arson. Lance L. McCabe, 42; Glenn A. Mantooth, 27; and Austin Fine, 22; are each charged with criminal responsibility for facilitation of a felony. All four have been arrested and booked in the Cocke County Jail. In addition, Joey D. Cate has also been charged with criminal facilitation of a felony and is being held at the North West Correctional Complex on unrelated charges.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says they began investigating a fire that was set on August 15. They found that the five men, all inmates at the time, set the fire inside a cell in the jail annex. The fire caused minor damage and no one was injured.
