BATON ROUGE, La. (WATE) – Flooding has prompted more than 30,000 rescues and left an estimated 40,000 homes damaged.

Remote Area Medical volunteers traveled to Louisiana from Knoxville to help those victims. They are recruiting volunteers who can help flood victims with home repairs and debris removal as water begins to recede.

“Pick up your friends, pick up your tools and pick up to fix up homes in Baton Rouge,” said Remote Area Medical about their “Operation Pick-Up.” Anyone that would like to help can contact the RAM headquarters at (865) 579-1530 or email
