Nashville man carjacked by man he thought was a police officer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was carjacked in east Nashville after believing he was being stopped by Metro police early Friday morning.

The carjacking happened near Riverside Drive and Eastland Drive around 4 a.m.

Metro police say the victim was driving home in a black Honda Accord when he saw flashing lights and pulled over.

When he stopped, a man approached him with a gun and took his car. Since his cellphone was still in the car, the victim walked home and called police.

Investigators say the car the suspect was driving, before the carjacking, was a dark-colored SUV.
