Cocke County man, out on bond for arson/homicide, accused of another arson

PARROTSVILLE (WATE) – A Cocke County man has been indicted on arson charges after a house fire last month in the Bybee community.

The fire was reported on July 24 at 1105 Palmer Hollow Road. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says they developed information that James Pate Williams, 44, intentionally set the fire.

A grand jury indicted Williams Monday one one count of arson. He is being held in the Cocke County Jail without bond.

Williams was already out of jail on bond awaiting trial in connection with a 2011 homicide in Cocke County. Williams was indicted in February 2016 in the case on one count of first degree murder and one count of arson in the death of Richard Williams at another home on Palmer Hollow Road.
