Voting begins in East Tennessee for August election

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Voting begins Thursday in Tennessee for the August state primary and county general election.

Polling locations can be found by visiting the state’s election website, GoVoteTN.com or downloading the app.  Voters can find information on elected officials, sample ballots and more.

Tennesseans voting on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security as well as photo IDs issued by Tennessee state government or the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.

Voters can honor someone a U.S. military member while voting. Visit the election website for more information.
